My Philosophy: Transforming Content, Connecting with People

Hello. I'm Natalie Laderas. At the heart of my work is a simple, enduring conviction: learning is one of the most powerful tools we have for personal growth, organizational change, and social mobility. My favorite moment in any project is the one right after I’m handed a massive, incredibly dry, or overly complicated source deck, or a project with massive amounts of content and a quick turnaround.

Where others might see a roadblock or even a headache, my brain immediately starts mapping out the instructional architecture. I start visualizing how an abstract technical diagram can transform into an interactive Rise module, where an elegant infographic can anchor a complex concept, and how a well-placed audio introduction can give a learner immediate context. I genuinely love the challenge of taking messy data and reshaping it into an elegant, visual, and engaging learning experience.

But exceptional learning design isn't built in a silo: It's built on relationships.

When I sit down with a Subject Matter Expert, I don't see just another meeting; I see a valuable opportunity to engage with a person who holds specialized, invaluable knowledge. I know they are incredibly busy, so my first step is always to build authentic rapport, asking about what drives their passion or curiosity about the content.

Having spent my career navigating complex corporate and higher education spaces, I've learned that the greatest tool an instructional designer possesses isn't a specific authoring software; it's communication and listening. Whether I am partnering with an executive SME or coaching junior designers on the team, my approach is straightforward: respect people's time, listen deeply to their expertise, and deliver clear, high-signal value in every interaction.
